An industrial designer by trade, Camiel Fortgens graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014 and deep dove into the realm of men's wear thereafter. Fortgens' ethos involves an inquisition of archetypal clothing across different cultural eras. This exploration of material, shape and tailoring elements are often deconstructed and re-constructed with a new viewpoint by the designer. "The motivation behind designing the collections is based on a simple ‘Why’: why is it like it is? Starting with this question he investigates not only garments and the fashion industry but also norms in society and social behaviour."
