Man-tle’s signature relaxed fitting button-front shirt designed specifically for natural dyeing cut from their airy cotton/linen parachute cloth shirting woven on a wooden shuttle loom in Shizuoka. Features a classic collar, a dropped left breast pocket, a clean finished rear yoke, and a flat hem. This edition has been hand dyed by master craftsman Yukihito Kanai, head of the Amami-Oshima based Kanair Kouegi dyehouse. The rich ombre gradient is produced by fusing two traditional dye methods: indigo and mud; each shirt is first dip-dyed in indigo before being dipped a second time in the iron rich muds of Amami island to produce the brown colour. Constructed using french seams throughout for a long lasting, elegant finish that is a joy to wear.
Natural dyes are living dyes. Colour is intended to age and evolve with wearing, washing, and exposure to sunlight. Some colour may transfer to lighter fabrics with friction or washing, discretion is advised.
