It was a pleasure to see the name of our friend Dylan Watson pop up recently in the featured section of Freunde von Freunden. A prodigy in the kitchen, this young Canadian chef has harnessed culinary brilliance in what may seem only a short span of time. From training at 3-star Michelin restaurants in Japan to the world renowned Noma in Denmark, Dylan's past two years have been occupied in Berlin where he's honed his own intimate dining venture, Ernst. He takes FvF on a routine trip foraging for produce, visiting specialty market vendors and biodynamic farms, all the while expounding his uniquely detail-driven and informed approach to food. Last Friday, friends and family gathered at our new shopfront, Neighbour/Woman, to celebrate its induction into the womenswear community. The warm spring evening was a perfect backdrop to compliment the affair, which went off without a hitch thanks in large measure to the party-throwing expertise of our friends at Nice Night. Guests imbibed in signature cocktails lovingly crafted by Rob Pedersen, after which the festivities continued to flow at Index Gallery, where musical selectors Compendium and DJ Silk provided grooves to move us well into the late evening. Much gratitude goes out to all who attended and made it an evening not to be forgotten. Photographs by Luis Valdizon.
Our resident photographer here at Neighbour, Ian Lanterman, was recently featured on Warsaw-based digital (and print) publication, Thisispaper. Aside from an aptitude behind the lens, Ian is also a gifted musician who likes to indulge in the search for records unknown. This two-part mix is comprised of the influential sounds of East and West - pulling from his time spent in Japan and his taste in obscure European sounds.
