Martin Margiela established himself at the forefront of the Belgian fashion avant-garde as an alumni of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and come 1988 founded his namesake couture house in Paris. The design team that currently heads the Maison has maintained the tradition of anonymity its founder established in his career-long refusal to grant interviews or public appearances. Since 2014, the Maison has appointed new Creative Director Mr. John Galliano to fuse his own poetic vision with the codes of Margiela’s legacy. MM6 is a diffusion line of the house, and presents a more casual, street-inspired take on the Maison's intellectual deconstructionist approach to luxury, offering unexpected takes on urban basics.
